UCHLS Point-Of-Care Resource Evaluation Task Force
Final Report
February, 2008
SummaryThe UCHLS selectors group charged a task force in 2007 to evaluate selected Point-of-Care (POC) online resources, and make a recommendation on any resources that should be considered for consortial license.
The task force members were:
Bruce Abbott, UCD
Judy Bube, UCI (co-chair)
Craig Haynes, UCSD
Rikke Ogawa, UCLA
Josephine Tan, UCSF
Jeff Williams, UCSD (co-chair)
MethodologyThe task force adopted the methodology developed by a team of librarians associated with the Texas Health Science Libraries Consortium, and presented at the 2006 meeting of the South Central Chapter of the Medical Library Association (SCC/MLA). A PowerPoint report, and supporting documentation from this group is available at

Based on the evaluations the task force consulted, as well as the earlier work done by the Texas Health Science Libraries Consortium, we believe the following five resources are of sufficient quality, and wide enough applicability to recommend the UCHLS consider the following for consortial purchase, or continue support for existing license:
